Services by Age
The KCCD program strives to present age-appropriate curriculum catered to your child’s individual needs. As an implementor of the “High-Reach Learning Program” KCCD believes that children learn best through actively engaging with people and things in their environment. Children are involved in hands-on experiences, real-life adventures, and assisted discovery as they explore concepts through play. This includes
1. Relationship-based learning
2. Sound early childhood research and theory
3. Emergent curriculum development
4. Project-focused play investigations
5. Intentional planning and teaching strategies
6. Involving families, culture, and community
A Christian emphasis is at the center of our teaching, which we believe provides your child with basic moral concepts. At KCCD, we sing Christian songs, say prayers, and refer to Bible passages. We believe that the height to which a child will soar into the future is greatly determined by the foundation on which his formative years are built.
Nutrition & Wellness
Our daycare center follows the USDA Food and Nutrition Services Division Guidelines and meets all safety and regulations of the Lawrence Douglas County Health Department. We believe that nutrition is key to the growth and development of the children in our care. We strive to provide healthy, balanced, and fresh meals every day. We prepare and cook our meals on site daily.
In addition to healthy eating, our daycare center promotes both indoor and outdoor exercise. Every morning begins with "Circle Time", a time of indoor morning activity. Each afternoon, weather permitting, the children enjoy the spacious outdoor, fenced backyard. Additionally, we are First Aid and CPR certified.
